The Situation

In 1 Samuel chapter 30, David faced the threat of being stoned to death by his own men. This occurred while he was fleeing from King Saul, who was envious of him and seeking his life. During this time David also had to evade the hostile Philistines.

How did this former humble shepherd boy, leading a modest life, find himself in such a tumultuous, chaotic, and perilous circumstance?

The Full Nutrition 🥬🥦🍠🥗 (not just cookies)

I could offer a sweet cookie perspective on David having haters and relate that to how your haters can motivate you to achieve greatness! 😩🙌

That may give a temporary spiritual sugar high, but it won’t provide the full and balanced nutrition of God's word.

It is necessary for us to also consume the spiritual kale and broccoli that says we will have difficulties, challenges, tribulations, and opposition in this life (Job 14:1; Matthew 5:11-12; 1 Corinthians 10:13; James 1:2).

During these times, we are instructed to practice patience, joy, gratitude, and to pray for and bless those who mistreat us for the name of Christ.

The Reality

Reflecting on whether our actions led to the current situation is important to avoid repeating mistakes.

However, like David faced his reality, we too must navigate through challenges regardless of fault.

To overcome the situation, we have two choices: 1) Trusting and patiently relying on God, or 2) Trusting our own limited capabilities.

David wisely opted for the first option, and over time, his trials transformed into blessings, culminating in his kingship over all Israel.

The Choice

Choosing to trust God means that no matter if the mess is cleaned up right away or not, God is there to guide and protect us, and we are spiritually growing through the process.

Peter walked on the sea, surrounded by sea creatures, in the dark of night, as long as he had faith in Jesus' miraculous power to keep him afloat. It was only when he started looking around and relying on the human understanding of natural laws that he began to sink.

The Spiritual Realm

Since God operates in the spiritual realm, it is essential for us to align our thinking with His realm as well.

By shifting our perspective, through the Holy Spirit, we can recognize the hand of God at work in the unseen realms of existence.

Before we see it in the natural realm, God has already done it in the spiritual realm.

The Conclusion

Therefore, friends, we should continue to have faith in God, even when things are chaotic.

Just like David and Peter, there may be various reasons why we are in a mess, but the only way out is by keeping our trust in God.

Be consistent in your walk with God and love for others, and do not quit. God loves you, and has not forgotten about you.

It is working for your good (Romans 8:28).

May the grace of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ be with you.

Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble."
